    Texas Flamethrowers with Dipping Sauce

    List of Ingredients


    • -- Flamethrowers --
    • 4 Anaheim chile peppers -- roasted, peeled, quartered lengthwise and seeded
    • 1 egg, beaten
    • 1/4 cup milk
    • 1 cup all-purpose flour
    • Dash of salt
    • Dash of black pepper
    • Cooking oil
    • .
    • -- Dipping Sauce --
    • 4 green jalapenos -- roasted, peeled, seeded and minced
    • 1 cup buttermilk
    • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
    • 1 Tbsp minced garlic
    • 2 tsp minced fresh chives
    • 1 tsp minced fresh thyme leaves
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 1/2 tsp cider vinegar
    • 1/4 tsp dry mustard
    • 1/4 tsp black pepper


    Instructions


    1. In a medium-sized bowl, combine eggs and milk thoroughly. Soak peppers in egg/milk bath for about 5 minutes, then remove the peppers. Sprinkle peppers with salt and black pepper.

    2. Dredge peppers in flour and fry in hot oil until batter is crisp.

    3. For Dipping Sauce: Blend all ingredients together in a food processor.

      Serve flamethrowers with dipping sauce.
