    Vidalia Onion-Cheese Dip

    List of Ingredients


    • 3 large Vidalia onions or other sweet onions, coarsely chopped
    • 2 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted
    • 2 cups (8 ounces) shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
    • 1 cup mayonnaise
    • ½ tsp hot sauce
    • 1 clove garlic, minced


    Instructions


    1. Cook onion in butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat, stirring constantly, until tender.

    2. Combine onion, cheese, mayonnaise, hot sauce, and garlic; stir well. Pour into a lightly buttered 1½-quart casserole.

    3. Bake, uncovered, at 375° for 20 to 25 minutes or until bubbly and golden.
      Serve dip with tortilla chips or assorted crackers.

      Makes 4 cups.
