Recipe Introduction
"The name pretty much says it all — these wings are just to die for! This recipe has all of the bases covered, with a little sweet and a little heat, topped off with a kick of bourbon."
List of Ingredients
â—¦ 2 tablespoons butter
â—¦ 1 cup chopped Vidalia onion
â—¦ 2 tablespoons finely chopped jalapeño pepper
â—¦ 1 cup apple jelly
â—¦ ½ cup bourbon
â—¦ 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
â—¦ 4 pounds chicken wingettes
â—¦ 2 tablespoons canola oil
â—¦ 1 ½ teaspoons salt
â—¦ 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
Recipe
Melt the butter in a skillet over medium-low heat. Add the onions, and cook until they are softened, for 6 to 8 minutes. Stir in the jalapeños, jelly, bourbon, and Worcestershire sauce. Increase the heat to medium-high, and cook until the mixture is reduced by half, for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from the heat, and place in a large bowl.
Heat the grill to medium-high heat. Place the chicken wingettes in a large bowl. Add the oil, salt, and pepper, and toss together until the chicken pieces are well coated. Place them on the hot grill, and cook for 10 to 12 minutes on each side.
Add the grilled wings to the glaze, and toss until they are well coated. Return the wings to the grill, and cook for 1 to 2 minutes per side, just until the wings are caramelized.
Serve them hot off the grill.
