    Chamo-Mint Soap

    Source of Recipe

From "Home Made" by Alexa Lett

    List of Ingredients

    • One 4-ounce bar Castile soap
    • 1/4 cup distilled water
    • 2 Tbsp dried chamomile
    • 1 drop red food coloring
    • 1 Tbsp liquid lanolin
    • 1 tsp jojoba oil
    • 10 drops peppermint oil
    • 4 drops vitamin E oil (squeezed from a vitamin E capsule)

    Instructions

    1. Shred the Castile soap with a grater and set aside. Bring the water to a boil in a small saucepan and add the chamomile. Remove from heat, cover, and let this steep for 30 minutes.

    2. Strain the chamomile from the water, return the water to the pan, and reheat over low. Add the food coloring and the shredded soap, stirring continuously until it becomes sticky.

    3. Add the lanolin, jojoba oil, peppermint oil and vitamin E oil, and blend. Remove the soap from the heat and spoon into a 5-ounce mold. Let harden for several hours.
