Recipe Introduction
"This stuff is the best. Creamy, dreamy, and a delight to the senses because it smells like chocolate and coconut. This is a simple but decadent recipe that will keep your skin soft all year long. Safe to use on the whole family, even babies."
List of Ingredients
â—¦ ¼ cup shea butter
â—¦ ¼ cup cocoa butter
â—¦ ½ cup coconut oil
â—¦ Optional: ½ teaspoon vitamin E
Recipe
Heat 3 inches of water in pot over medium heat. Once it boils, turn down to simmer.
Add shea butter, cocoa butter, coconut oil, and vitamin E (if using) to measuring cup and put in pot. Stir occasionally with spoon until fully melted. Remove from heat. When glass is lukewarm to touch, put mixture in refrigerator with small plate on top (to protect mixture). Leave for 1 or 2 hours until cool.
Prepare stand mixer with whisk attachment. Scoop mixture out of measuring cup and into mixing bowl. Whisk at medium speed for 10 minutes. When cream sticks to sides, push down with spatula to reintegrate. When mixture is fluffy, remove bowl from mixer and scrape into jar. Seal with lid.
Makes 8 ounces
• Use as desired with clean, dry fingers. (If cream gets soft, pop into refrigerator for an hour.) If stored out of direct sunlight, will keep for up to a year.
