    Oatmeal Soap-On-A-Rope

    Source of Recipe

From "Home Made" by Alexa Lett

    List of Ingredients

    • ½ cup oatmeal
    • ½ cup soap crumbs (broken small pieces or hotel bar-sized soap)
    • 1½ Tbsp vegetable oil
    • 1½ Tbsp water
    • One 16-inch piece of cotton rope or cord with a knot tied at one end

    Instructions

    1. Blend the oatmeal and soap crumbs in a blender. Use the pulse option until the mixture becomes quite fine.

    2. Put the oatmeal and soap mixture in a large, deep mixing bowl. Add the oil and water and mix well. Using your hands, form the mixture into a ball. Divide the ball into two equal parts with a knife. With your finger, make a small indentation on the cut sides, and place the rope in the middle of the split ball. Gently mold the two halves back together. The rope or cord should be hidden within the ball, all except for the knot and about 12 inches of cord.

Let the soap dry for about 3 days, in the sunshine if possible.
