    Spirited: Hot Buttered Rum

    List of Ingredients


    • -- Batter --
    • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
    • 1-1/3 cups packed brown sugar
    • 1 pint vanilla ice cream, softened
    • 1 tsp ground nutmeg
    • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
    • ½ tsp ground cardamom
    • ½ tsp vanilla extract
    • .
    • -- Cocktail (per single serving) --
    • 2 Tbsp frozen batter
    • 1¼ ounces rum
    • 1 pat butter
    • Pinch of mace


    Instructions


    1. For batter:
      Combine butter, brown sugar, ice cream, nutmeg, cinnamon, cardamom, and vanilla extract with electric mixer to create a smooth batter.

    2. Pour mixture into a plastic container with a lid, and seal. Place in the freezer.

    3. For cocktail:
      For each cocktail, place 2 tablespoons of the frozen batter in a mug and add ¾ cup of boiling water. Add rum and stir until batter is melted. Garnish with pat of butter and a pinch of mace.

      Makes 6 servings.
