• 1 (8-ounce) dark bittersweet or semisweet chocolate bar
  
• 1/2 cup heavy cream
  
• 2 quarts milk
  
• Whipped cream (optional)
  






Instructions



1. In a 3-quart saucepan, combine chocolate and heavy cream. Stir over medium heat until chocolate melts. Whisk in milk and heat until hot but not boiling, 7 to 10 minutes.
   
   Pour into 8 mugs and garnish with whipped cream, if desired.
   
   Makes 8 servings.
