    Cocoa: Spicy Bittersweet Cocoa

    List of Ingredients


    • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
    • 1/2 cup sugar
    • 6-1/2 cups whole milk
    • 1-1/2 cups whipping cream
    • 1 (2-inch) piece cinnamon stick
    • 1-1/2 tsp vanilla
    • 5 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
    • .
    • Whipped cream (optional)


    Instructions


    1. In a large saucepan, stir together the unsweetened cocoa powder and sugar. Using a whisk, stir in the milk, whipping cream, stick cinnamon, vanilla and chopped bittersweet chocolate. Heat and stir over medium heat until just boiling. Remove the cinnamon stick.

      Serve immediately, topped with whipped cream.

      Makes 10 servings.
