    Coffee: Vanilla Coffee

    List of Ingredients


    • Vanilla Bean Syrup
    • 1 cup hot brewed coffee
    • Half-and-half
    • 1 Tbsp vanilla-flavored vodka (optional)
    • Shaved bittersweet chocolate


    Instructions


    1. Stir 1 tablespoon (or desired amount) of Vanilla Bean Syrup into hot coffee. Stir in desired amount of half-and-half and vanilla vodka, if desired. Sprinkle with shaved bittersweet chocolate.

      Makes 1 serving.



      VANILLA BEAN SYRUP

      • 2 cups sugar
      • 1 vanilla bean, split lengthwise

      Combine 2 cups water and sugar in a medium saucepan; cook over medium heat until sugar dissolves, stirring frequently. Scrape vanilla bean seeds into sugar syrup; add vanilla bean pod to syrup. Remove from heat, and let cool completely. Remove and discard vanilla bean pod.

      Makes 2½ cups.



    Final Comments


    Prepare Vanilla Bean Syrup up to 1 week ahead. Cover and store in refrigerator.
