    Shake: Vietnamese Coffee Shake

    Source of Recipe

From "Mad Hungry: Cravings" by Lucinda Quinn

    Recipe Introduction

"This is a noveau shake version of the traditional Vietnamese coffee — itself a result of the colonial French presence in Vietnam. The French brought coffee beans for cultivation to the country in the late-1800s, along with their tradition of un petit café in the morning. Chicory coffee, such as Café du Monde, is often used. Serve this along with a Banh Mi sandwich. Poured in small chilled cups, it's also a delicious dessert on a cool day."

    List of Ingredients

â—¦ 2 cups strong brewed coffee, chilled
    â—¦ ½ cup half-and-half
â—¦ ½ cup sweetened condensed milk
    â—¦ 4 cups ice cubes

    Recipe

Combine the coffee, half-and-half, sweetened condensed milk, and ice in a blender and blend until smooth and frothy, about 30 seconds. Pour into tall glasses and serve immediately.

    Serves 6
