    Spirited: Mint Julep a la Creole

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 cup water
    • 6 sprigs of fresh mint (plus more for decoration)
    • 3 lumps sugar
    • 1 Tbsp good brandy or whiskey
    • A bit of lemon and orange peel
    • Juice of 1/2 lemon
    • Finely crushed ice
    • 2 ripe strawberries
    • Crushed sugar


    Instructions


    1. Take one large glass, half-filled with water; add 6 sprigs of fresh mint and 3 lumps of sugar. Stir well, until the sugar is absorbed. Add the brandy or whiskey; stir well. Add the lemon and orange peel and the lemon juice. Fill the glass with crushed ice; decorate with sprigs of mint. Place a few strawberries on top and sprinkle lightly with crushed sugar.

      Serves 1
