Spirited: White Russian Milk Shakes
Source of Recipe
From "Once Upon A Chef" by Jennifer Segal
Recipe Introduction
"A White Russian is a decadent after-dinner cocktail made from vodka, sweet coffee liqueur, and heavy cream, served on ice. Since a White Russian is basically a dessert (that gets you buzzed), I figured, 'Why not take it one step further and transform it into a milk shake?' My friends go crazy for these—and a dollop of whipped cream on top doesn't hurt, either."
List of Ingredients
â—¦ ¼ cup vodka
â—¦ ¼ cup Kahlúa
â—¦ 1 quart best-quality vanilla ice cream
â—¦ Cocoa powder, chocolate shavings, and/or sweetened whipped cream, for topping (optional)
Recipe
In a blender, combine the vodka, Kahlúa, and ice cream and purée until smooth and creamy. Pour into glasses, then dust with cocoa powder and/or sprinkle with chocolate shavings.
Serve immediately, with whipped cream, if desired.
