Shake: Vanilla Milkshake

- -- Vanilla Syrup --
- 1 vanilla bean, split
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup granulated sugar

- -- Milk Shake --
- 3 Tbsp vanilla syrup
- 2 large scoops vanilla ice cream, slightly softened
- 3/4 to 1 cup very cold milk
Instructions
- For syrup: Soak bean in water for 30 seconds. Pour water, bean and sugar into a heavy saucepan and cook over medium-high heat. Stir constantly until sugar dissolves; bring to a boil. Boil for 5 minutes, or until mixture thickens slightly. Let cool to lukewarm. Pour through a strainer into an airtight container and store in the refrigerator. (Keeps almost forever.)
- For milkshake: Put all milkshake ingredients (in order given) into a blender and process until smooth and thick, adjusting the amount of milk for the thickness desired.
