    Beer Batter Bread

    Adapted from "New Tastes From Texas"


    List of Ingredients


    • 3 cups flour
    • 1 Tbsp baking powder
    • 3 Tbsp sugar
    • 1 tsp salt
    • 1 (12-ounce) bottle beer, at room temperature
    • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees (F). In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, sugar and salt. Add the beer all at once, mixing as little as possible; the batter should be lumpy.

    2. Pour the batter into a 9x5x3-inch loaf pan and brush with the melted butter.

    3. Bake 35 to 40 minutes, or until a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean. Turn out onto a rack to cool.

      Makes 1 loaf.
