    List of Ingredients


    • 2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 Tbsp baking powder
    • 2 Tbsp granulated sugar
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 1/3 cup butter or shortening
    • 1/2 cup dried apricots
    • 3/4 cup milk
    • Milk, optional
    • Granulated sugar, optional


    Instructions


    1. In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder, 2 tablespoons sugar and salt. Cut in butter with a pastry blender until the mixture resembles the texture of cornmeal. Stir in dried apricots. Add 3/4 cup milk and stir just until dough clings together.

    2. On a lightly floured surface, roll or pat dough into a 7-inch circle (3/4-inch thick). Cut into 6 to 8 wedges. Place on an ungreased baking sheet. Brush with additional milk and sprinkle with sugar, if desired.

    3. Bake in a 425-degree oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden.

      Makes 6 to 8 scones.
