A Perfect Fried Egg Every Time

    Source of Recipe

From "Mad Hungry: Family" by Lucinda Quinn

    Recipe Introduction

"If you like your fried egg sunny-side up and completely tender — with a runny yolk but no crispy brown edges — this is the method for you."

    List of Ingredients

    â—¦ ½ teaspoon unsalted butter
    â—¦ 1 large egg
â—¦ Coarse salt and freshly ground black pepper

    Recipe

Heat a small nonstick or well-seasoned cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add the butter and swirl it to coat the skillet.

Immediately crack the egg into the skillet. Add 1 teaspoon water to the pan (around the outside of the egg into the butter), cover, reduce the heat to medium-low, and cook for one minute.

Remove the egg from the pan immediately.
Season to taste with salt and pepper, and serve at once.

    Serves 1
