Chocolate Chip Coffee Cake

- 2 cups flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- One 8-ounce package cream cheese, softened
- 1½ cups sugar, divided
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ cup milk
- 1 package (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
- ¼ cup chopped pecans
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350° F. Grease and flour a 10-inch springform pan; set aside. In a small bowl, whisk together first 4 ingredients; set aside.
- In a large bowl with an electric mixer, cream butter, cream cheese, and 1¼ cups sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Add flour mixture in two batches, alternating with milk; beat well after each addition. Fold in chocolate chips. Pour into prepared pan.
- Combine the pecans, cinnamon and remaining sugar; sprinkle over top.
Bake 55 to 65 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool on wire rack 15 minutes. Carefully run a knife around the edge of the pan to loosen; remove sides of pan. Cool completely before serving.
