Crunchy French Toast

List of Ingredients
- 3 cups corn flakes
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp nutmeg
- 1/8 tsp ground cloves
- 5 eggs
- About 2 to 3 Tbsp softened margarine
- 10 slices bread
- Warm maple syrup
Instructions
- Crush the corn flakes and almonds as finely as possible. (This can be done in a food processor.) Combine with the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. Pour onto a large plate.
- In a large bowl, whisk the eggs to break up. Heat a large skillet or griddle (preferably nonstick) over medium heat until hot. Brush with some of the margarine.
- Dip the bread slices into the eggs; coat well with the coating. Cook until golden brown on each side. Keep warm. Serve with warm maple syrup.
Makes 10 pieces.
