    Crunchy French Toast

    List of Ingredients


    • 3 cups corn flakes
    • 1/2 cup sliced almonds
    • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
    • 1 tsp cinnamon
    • 1/8 tsp nutmeg
    • 1/8 tsp ground cloves
    • 5 eggs
    • About 2 to 3 Tbsp softened margarine
    • 10 slices bread
    • Warm maple syrup


    Instructions


    1. Crush the corn flakes and almonds as finely as possible. (This can be done in a food processor.) Combine with the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. Pour onto a large plate.

    2. In a large bowl, whisk the eggs to break up. Heat a large skillet or griddle (preferably nonstick) over medium heat until hot. Brush with some of the margarine.

    3. Dip the bread slices into the eggs; coat well with the coating. Cook until golden brown on each side. Keep warm. Serve with warm maple syrup.

      Makes 10 pieces.
