Recipe Introduction
"Some nights I get such a strong sweet tooth that I've been known to start making a pie from scratch at 10 pm, which is absurd! So in order to satisfy my late-night cravings, I've concocted this quick, satisfying treat that is easy to make and a healthier option than pie. (Although pie is my favorite, let's be clear.) Crispy, buttery cinnamon toast loaded with fresh strawberries and a drizzle of honey gets a touch of 'grown up' with the addition of crumbled goat cheese. This number does the trick when I just need a little bite of sweet."
List of Ingredients
◦ 1 slice good farmhouse white bread
◦ Salted butter, at room temperature
◦ 1 tablespoon cinnamon-sugar
◦ 2 or 3 strawberries, thinly sliced
◦ Honey
◦ Crumbled goat cheese (optional)
Recipe
Preheat the broiler.
Toast the bread in a toaster on a very low setting to get a light golden color. Transfer to a sheet pan, butter the bread generously, and sprinkle the top with cinnamon-sugar. Place under the broiler for a minute or two, with the door cracked open, until it's brown and bubbly on top. Remove from the broiler, top with layers of sliced strawberries, a good drizzle of honey, and a little crumbled goat cheese if you'd like.
