Recipe Introduction
"I came up with this sweet and savory recipe because I love Hawaiian pizza and wanted a casserole I could make ahead and pop in the oven at the last minute. This is a perfect main dish to take to a potluck."
List of Ingredients
â—¦ 8 English muffins, cut into eighths and toasted
â—¦ 3 cups cubed fully cooked ham
â—¦ 1 can (20 ounces) pineapple tidbits, drained
â—¦ 4 green onions, chopped
â—¦ 1 jar (4 ounces) diced pimientos, drained
â—¦ 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
â—¦ ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
â—¦ 1 jar (15 ounces) Alfredo sauce
â—¦ 1 ½ cups evaporated milk
â—¦ 4 large eggs, lightly beaten
â—¦ ½ teaspoon salt
â—¦ ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
Recipe
Combine the first five ingredients. Transfer to a 13 x 9-inch baking dish; top with cheeses.
Whisk together the remaining ingredients. Pour the sauce over layers, pushing down, if necessary, with the back of a spoon to ensure muffins absorb liquid. Refrigerate, covered, one hour or overnight.
Preheat the oven to 350° F.
Remove strata from refrigerator while oven heats. Bake, uncovered, until the strata is golden and bubbly, 30 to 40 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
