Orange French Toast

List of Ingredients
- 4 eggs, lightly beaten
- 2 Tbsp Grand Marnier
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 Tbsp grated orange peel
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1/8 tsp cinnamon
- Pinch of nutmeg
- 8 (1-inch-thick) slices of French bread

- Unsalted butter
- Maple syrup
- Powdered sugar

- Accompaniment: 4 cooked sausage links
Instructions
- In a shallow bowl, beat together eggs, Grand Marnier, milk, orange peel, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg.
- Dip bread slices into egg mixture, coating both sides. Soak for 30 seconds on each side.
- In a skillet, melt 1 tablespoon butter and cook the bread on both sides over medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes on each side, or until golden.
Serve with butter, syrup, powdered sugar and sausage.
Makes 4 servings.
