    Petite Cinnamon Rolls

    Source of Recipe

From "The Southern Living Party Cookbook"

    List of Ingredients

    • 1 (16-ounce) package hot roll mix (such as Pillsbury)
    • 6 tablespoons (3 ounces) salted butter, softened
    • ½ cup granulated sugar
    • ½ cup packed light brown sugar
    • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • 2 cups (about 8 ounces) powdered sugar
    • ¼ cup whole milk
    • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

    Instructions

    1. Prepare the hot roll mix dough according to the package directions. Divide the dough into two equal portions. Roll each dough portion into a 12- x 8-inch rectangle on a lightly floured surface. Spread each with 3 tablespoons of the butter.

    2. Stir together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon; sprinkle half of the sugar mixture over each buttered dough rectangle. Roll up each rectangle starting at one long side.

    3. Cut each rolled dough portion into 24 (½-inch) slices. Place the slices, cut sides up, in cups of two lightly greased 24-cup miniature muffin pans. Cover with plastic wrap, and let rise in a warm place (80° to 85° F), free from drafts, about 30 minutes.

    4. Preheat the oven to 375° F.
Bake the rolls in the preheated oven until golden brown, about 12 to 15 minutes, rotating pans after 10 minutes. Transfer the rolls from pans to wire racks, and let cool 10 minutes.

    5. Stir together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Spread over the tops of the rolls.
