    Rich Buttermilk Waffles

    List of Ingredients


    • 3 eggs
    • 1-1/2 cups buttermilk
    • 1-3/4 cups sifted flour
    • 1 tsp baking soda
    • 2 tsp baking powder
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 1/2 cup melted butter or margarine, cooled


    Instructions


    1. Heat waffle iron. Beat eggs until light and lemon-colored. Beat in buttermilk.

    2. Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Beat in buttermilk mixture. Stir in melted butter. Beat until well-blended and smooth. (This batter is rather thin.)

    3. Bake in hot waffle iron. Serve hot with syrup, jam, or with whipped cream and fruit for dessert.

      Makes 8 servings.
