Rich Buttermilk Waffles

- 3 eggs
- 1-1/2 cups buttermilk
- 1-3/4 cups sifted flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup melted butter or margarine, cooled
Instructions
- Heat waffle iron. Beat eggs until light and lemon-colored. Beat in buttermilk.
- Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Beat in buttermilk mixture. Stir in melted butter. Beat until well-blended and smooth. (This batter is rather thin.)
- Bake in hot waffle iron. Serve hot with syrup, jam, or with whipped cream and fruit for dessert.
Makes 8 servings.
