Blonde Brownies

List of Ingredients
- 2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1-1/2 sticks butter, melted
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease and flour a 13- x 9-inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl blend the sugar, beaten eggs, and vanilla into the butter. In another bowl, sift together the flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. Gradually mix the flour mixture, a little at a time, into the butter mixture. Fold in the nuts.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan. Sprinkle the chocolate chips on top of the batter and bake the brownies for 30 minutes. When cool, cut into squares.
Makes about 2 dozen brownies.
