List of Ingredients
- -- Crust --
- Nonstick cooking spray
- 1-1/2 cups flour
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup butter or stick margarine, cut into small pieces
- .
- -- Topping --
- 1 (11-ounce) pkg. butterscotch chips
- 2 Tbsp butter or stick margarine
- 1 Tbsp water
- 1/2 cup white corn syrup
- 1 (10-ounce) can salted mixed nuts
Instructions
- Spray a 9x13-inch baking pan with cooking spray. Preheat oven to 350 degrees (F).
- To prepare the crust: Combine the flour, brown sugar and salt in a bowl. Cut in the butter, mixing as you would a pie crust. (The mixture will be dry, but if it seems too dry to hold together, add a tablespoon or so of water.) Press into the bottom of the prepared pan. Bake 10 minutes. Cool on a rack.
- To prepare the topping: In a saucepan over medium-low heat, stir together the butterscotch chips, butter, water and corn syrup. When melted and smooth, immediately spread over the crust. Sprinkle the nuts over the top evenly. Bake an additional 10 minutes. Cool completely before cutting.
Makes about 28 bars.
