    Chocolate Chip Squares

    List of Ingredients


    • 2-1/4 cups flour
    • 2 tsp baking powder
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 1 cup margarine, at room temperature
    • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
    • 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
    • 1-1/4 tsp vanilla
    • 3 eggs
    • 1 pkg. (12 ounces) chocolate chips
    • 1 cup chopped walnuts


    Instructions


    1. In a small mixing bowl combine the flour, baking powder and salt; set aside.

    2. In a large mixing bowl combine the margarine, granulated sugar and brown sugars; beat with an electric mixer until creamy. Add the vanilla and eggs, beating well.

    3. Gradually add the flour mixture, mixing just to moisten. Stir in the chocolate chips and walnuts. Spread the dough into a greased 9x13-inch baking pan, spreading the batter evenly. Bake in a preheated 350-degree oven 35 to 40 minutes. Cool before cutting into squares.

      Makes 36 squares.
