    Pecan-Pie Bars

    From "Farm Journal Homemade Cookies"

    List of Ingredients


    • ½ cup butter
    • 1¼ cup sifted flour
    • ¼ cup sugar
    • ½ cup brown sugar, firmly packed
    • 1 cup light or dark corn syrup
    • 2 Tbsp flour
    • 3 eggs
    • 1 tsp vanilla
    • ¼ tsp salt
    • ½ cup to 1 cup chopped pecans


    Instructions


    1. To make crust:
      Cut butter with 1¼ cups flour and sugar until particles are fine, like cornmeal. Press into bottom of ungreased 9-inch square pan. Bake in 350° oven 15 minutes.

    2. Combine brown sugar, corn syrup, 2 tablespoons flour, eggs, vanilla, salt and pecans in mixing bowl, beating until well blended. Pour over partially baked crust in pan.

    3. Bake in 350° oven 30 to 35 minutes, or until golden brown and a knife inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on rack. Cut into 1½-inch squares.

      Makes 3 dozen.
