Pecan-Pie Bars

List of Ingredients
- ½ cup butter
- 1¼ cup sifted flour
- ¼ cup sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 cup light or dark corn syrup
- 2 Tbsp flour
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ cup to 1 cup chopped pecans
Instructions
- To make crust:
Cut butter with 1¼ cups flour and sugar until particles are fine, like cornmeal. Press into bottom of ungreased 9-inch square pan. Bake in 350° oven 15 minutes.
- Combine brown sugar, corn syrup, 2 tablespoons flour, eggs, vanilla, salt and pecans in mixing bowl, beating until well blended. Pour over partially baked crust in pan.
- Bake in 350° oven 30 to 35 minutes, or until golden brown and a knife inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on rack. Cut into 1½-inch squares.
Makes 3 dozen.
