    Bacon Cheeseburgers

    From "Southern Living Bourbon & Bacon"

    List of Ingredients


    • 2 pounds ground chuck
    • ½ tsp freshly ground black pepper
    • 1 tsp salt
    • Hamburger buns
    • Toppings: Grilled bacon slices, Comté cheese, grilled red onion slices, Romaine lettuce, and ripe tomato slices


    Instructions


    1. Preheat grill to 350° to 400° F (medium-high) heat. Sprinkle ground chuck with salt and pepper, and shape into six 8-ounce patties.

    2. Grill, covered with grill lid, 4 to 5 minutes on each side (for well done) or to desired temperature. Add cheese, if desired, during the last 90 seconds to melt.

    3. Serve immediately on hamburger buns. Allow guests to dress their own burger by placing condiments and toppings on the side.

      Makes 6 servings
