List of Ingredients
- 1 pound collard greens, cleaned and cut
- 1 pound mustard greens, cleaned and cut
- 1 pound turnip greens, cleaned and cut
- 1 pound bacon, chopped
- 2 cups diced onions
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 8 cups chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon Creole seasoning
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 to 3 tablespoons distilled white vinegar
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
Instructions
- Thoroughly wash greens to remove any grit and chop into small pieces.
- Place the bacon in a pot over medium heat. Brown the bacon and then add in the onions. Cook until the onions start to sweat. Add in the garlic; cook for 1 minute. Pour in the broth and turn the heat up to high, bringing to a boil.
- Add the greens into the pot in batches. Once all of the greens are in the pot, sprinkle in the Creole seasoning and pepper. Add the vinegar, salt, and sugar and stir. Cover the pot and let simmer for 1 hour over medium heat. Be sure to stir periodically.
