    • -- For the Cake --
    • 3/4 cup sugar
    • 1/2 cup milk
    • 1/2 stick butter
    • 1 egg
    • 2 cups flour
    • 2 tsp baking powder
    • 1/4 tsp salt
    • 2 cups blueberries
    • 1 Tbsp grated lemon zest
    • *
    • -- For the Topping --
    • 1/2 cup sugar
    • 1/3 cup flour
    • 1/2 stick butter
    • 1 tsp lemon zest
    • 1/2 tsp cinnamon


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees (F). Grease a loaf pan (any shape you want).

    2. Stir the topping ingredients together until smooth; set aside.

    3. In a medium bowl, stir together the sugar, milk, butter, and egg until smooth. In a separate bowl, toss the flour with the baking powder and salt. Stir the flour mixture into the wet ingredients; then fold in the blueberries and lemon zest.

    4. Transfer batter to the greased pan and sprinkle with the topping. Bake until the topping is deep golden in color and has formed a thick crust, about 50 minutes.

      Transfer to a wire rack to cool.
