Coffee Cake: Cherry Swirl Coffee Cake

- 1-1/2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tsp almond extract
- 4 eggs
- 3 cups flour
- 1 can (21-oz.) cherry pie filling

- 1 cup confectioners' sugar
- 1 to 2 Tbsp milk
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, blend the first seven ingredients on low speed. Increase to high speed and whip for 3 minutes. Stir in flour.
- Spread two-thirds of the batter over the bottom of a greased 15-1/2 x 10-1/2-inch jelly roll pan. Spread pie filling over batter; drop remaining batter by tablespoonfuls over all.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes or until golden.
- Meanwhile, combine glaze ingredients. Drizzle over cake while warm.
Cake is best if served immediately.
