    Frosting: Best Chocolate Buttercream Frosting

    List of Ingredients


    • 1/2 cup butter, softened
    • 2-1/2 cups powdered sugar
    • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
    • Dash salt
    • 1/4 cup whipping cream
    • 1 (1-ounce) square unsweetened baking chocolate, melted (e.g., Nestle Toll House Baking Bars)
    • 1 Tbsp light corn syrup


    Instructions


    1. Beat butter in medium mixer bowl at medium speed until creamy (1 to 2 minutes).

    2. Gradually add powdered sugar, cocoa and salt alternately with whipping cream and melted chocolate, scraping bowl often, until well mixed (2 to 3 minutes). Stir in corn syrup.

      Yield: 2 cups
      Makes enough to frost one (13x9-inch) cake or 12 cupcakes.
