List of Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp vegetable shortening
- 3/4 cup finely chopped nuts
- 12 Milky Way snack-size (small-size) bars
- 1 cup buttermilk, yogurt or sour cream, divided
- 1 cup butter or margarine
- 1-1/2 cups sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 4 eggs
- 2-1/2 cups flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 3/4 tsp baking soda
Instructions
- Grease a 10- to 12-cup Bundt pan or 10-inch tube pan with 2 tablespoons shortening. Coat pan with the nuts.
- Melt candy with 1/4 cup buttermilk on low heat, stirring frequently.
- In a large bowl, beat together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Blend in vanilla. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- In another bowl, combine flour, salt and baking soda. Add flour mixture alternately with the remaining 3/4 cup buttermilk to the butter-sugar mixture, mixing until the dry ingredients are moistened. Blend in the melted-candy mixture and spoon into the prepared cake pan.
- Bake in a preheated 350-degree (F) oven for 55 to 60 minutes, or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes in pan. Invert onto a wire cake rack and cool completely.
Makes 1 large cake.
