    Baked Gem Squash

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 to 2 gem squash* per camper
    • Kernel corn, drained


    Instructions


    1. Cut off the tops from the gem squash and scoop the seeds out of the yellow flesh. Fill the cavities with the drained corn (if you have it) and replace the caps.

    2. Wrap in foil and bake 30 minutes over hot coals, turning occasionally. The squash are done when soft and whacking them with barbecue tongs leaves a dent.

      Note: Baked potatoes take about 1 hour.



    Final Comments


    * Gem squash are tennis-ball sized with a dark green shell.
