- ¾ cup brown sugar
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup evaporated milk
- 4 Tbsp butter
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1½ cups pecan halves
Instructions
- Cook together over medium-high heat the sugars and evaporated milk, stirring constantly until mixture reaches a soft ball stage of 234° to 240° F.
- Remove from heat; add butter and vanilla. Stir until butter is melted.
- Add pecans and beat. (If pecans are cold, the mixture will not require as much beating and may be ready to drop by spoonfuls almost immediately.) Drop spoonfuls onto wax paper; let cool until firm.
