    Strawberry Blackberry Jam

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 ½ pounds strawberries (4 cups halved)
    • 1 pound blackberries
    • â…“ cup water
    • ½ cup sugar


    Instructions


    1. Rinse, stem, and halve the strawberries. Rinse and drain the blackberries. Combine them with water in a 4-quart nonreactive saucepan. Cover the pan and bring mixture to a boil. Uncover and simmer for 10 minutes.

    2. Add sugar and continue to simmer another 5 minutes, stirring more frequently as the jam thickens.

    3. Fill hot, sterilized jars to within ¼ inch of lips. Wipe rims clean, attach new lids, and screw caps on tightly. Either invert each jar briefly for a quick vacuum seal, or process in a boiling water bath, submerged by 1 inch, for 10 minutes.

      Makes 3 ¼ cups
