Recipe Introduction
"One taste of this spread and you'll think you're indulging in an ice cream sundae. Use it as a jam, as a decadent dessert topping, or on ice cream. Add a sliced banana and enjoy a split!"
List of Ingredients
â—¦ 2 ½ cups crushed hulled strawberries
â—¦ 1 â…“ cups crushed raspberries
â—¦ 6 cups granulated sugar
â—¦ 1 pouch (3 ounces) liquid pectin
â—¦ â…“ cup chocolate-flavored liqueur
Recipe
Prepare canner, jars, and lids.
In a large, stainless steel saucepan, combine strawberries, raspberries, and sugar. Over high heat, stirring constantly, bring to a full rolling boil that cannot be stirred down. Stir in pectin. Boil hard, stirring constantly, for 1 minute. Stir in chocolate-flavored liqueur. Remove from heat and skim off foam.
Ladle hot jam into hot jars, leaving ¼-inch headspace. Remove air bubbles and adjust headspace, if necessary, by adding hot jam. Wipe rim. Center lid on jar. Screw band down until resistance is met, then increase to fingertip-tight.
Place jars in canner, ensuring they are completely covered with water. Bring to a boil and process for 10 minutes. Remove canner lid. Wait 5 minutes, then remove jars, cool, and store.
Makes about six 8-ounce jars
