Recipe Introduction
"Whether dripping with melted butter on the cob or added to a crunchy, savory salad, fresh corn is hard to beat. When I was growing up, Memorial Day was considered the first day of the year for grilling out-of-doors and our Memorial Day cookouts always included fresh corn on the cob."
List of Ingredients
◦ 12 ears sweet corn
◦ 2 cups water
◦ 2 cups whole milk
◦ cup (1 stick) butter
◦ Salt to taste
Recipe
Shuck the corn and trim the ends, then rinse off all of the stringy silk.
Combine the water, milk, and butter in a large pot; season with a pinch of salt and bring to a boil. Drop the corn into the pot, then cover and steam until tender, 5 to 6 minutes.
Melt additional butter over the ears, if desired, and sprinkle with salt.
