    Cheesy Tuna Noodle Casserole

    • 1/3 cup chopped onion
    • 2 Tbsp butter
    • 2 Tbsp flour
    • 1-2/3 cups undiluted evaporated milk
    • 3/4 cup water
    • 1-1/3 cups shredded American cheese
    • 1-1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
    • 3/4 tsp seasoned salt
    • 1 (10-ounce) can drained, flaked tuna (or two 6-ounce cans)
    • 1 cup cooked, drained peas (or just put frozen into casserole, since they will be baked)
    • 3 cups cooked, drained medium noodles


    Instructions


    1. Sauté onion in butter in medium saucepan. Stir in flour. Gradually add evaporated milk and water. Cook over medium heat until mixture boils, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; add 1 cup cheese, Worcestershire sauce and seasoned salt. Stir until cheese is melted.

    2. Combine cheese sauce, tuna, peas and noodles in a bowl. Spoon into a buttered 1-1/2-quart casserole. Top with remaining 1/3 cup cheese.

    3. Bake at 350° F for 25 minutes.

      Serves 6
