I'm thinking of starting a "Recipe Collectors Anonymous" (RCA) in my area. My addiction is long-standing, stubbornly resistant to change, overwhelming. At its most severe stage, I was working in a local bookstore. Giving an employee discount to a lover of both recipes and books was setting my personal stage for disaster of unparalleled magnitude. I no longer work in the bookstore, but I still spend a lot of time (and money) there. Not only that -- I have further fed my "habit" by bookmarking scores of recipe sites on my computer. I have printed out enough recipes to wallpaper all the rooms of all the houses in my neighborhood. "Hi, my name is Barbara, and I'm a recipe addict..."
