Romancing The Cake Mix

(Some time in his life, someone had baked a birthday cake for Ari Onassis made with Duncan Hines chocolate cake mix. He thought it the grandest dessert he had ever eaten and declared it a mainstay on his yacht, often requesting guests flying over from the United States to replenish his supply. It's pretty hard to go wrong with Duncan Hines, but piqued with a little rum sauce, it makes a more romantic statement.)
Ingredients: 1 box Ducan Hines Chocolate Cake Mix; 1/2 cup water; 1 cup sugar; 1/4 cup rum; Cool Whip for topping.
Bake cake according to instructions on the box. While it is baking, bring water and sugar to boil for 1 minute. Add rum and cool. Cool cake on rack and, while it is cooling, slowly pour as much of the rum sauce over it, drop by drop, as it will absorb.
