Smokin' Pistol Chili

List of Ingredients
- 1/4 cup oil
- 2 lbs. ground beef
- 6 medium garlic cloves, minced
- 1 (28-oz.) can crushed tomatoes
- 3 green bell peppers, chopped (1/2" dice)
- 1 cup beer
- 2 medium onions, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup tomato paste
- 3 Tbsp medium-hot chili powder
- 2 Tbsp oregano
- 1 tsp cayenne
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 1/2 Tbsp salt
Instructions
- In a stockpot or Dutch oven, heat oil. Add garlic, bell peppers, and onions and saute until onions are transparent. Add chili powder and cayenne and saute for 1 minute more.
- Add beef and saute, stirring to break up meat, until evenly browned -- 7 to 10 minutes.
- Stir in remaining ingredients and simmer, stirring occasionally, until thick (about 20 minutes).
Makes 4 to 6 servings.
