    Smokin' Pistol Chili

    List of Ingredients


    • 1/4 cup oil
    • 2 lbs. ground beef
    • 6 medium garlic cloves, minced
    • 1 (28-oz.) can crushed tomatoes
    • 3 green bell peppers, chopped (1/2" dice)
    • 1 cup beer
    • 2 medium onions, finely chopped
    • 1/4 cup tomato paste
    • 3 Tbsp medium-hot chili powder
    • 2 Tbsp oregano
    • 1 tsp cayenne
    • 1 Tbsp sugar
    • 1/2 Tbsp salt


    Instructions


    1. In a stockpot or Dutch oven, heat oil. Add garlic, bell peppers, and onions and saute until onions are transparent. Add chili powder and cayenne and saute for 1 minute more.

    2. Add beef and saute, stirring to break up meat, until evenly browned -- 7 to 10 minutes.

    3. Stir in remaining ingredients and simmer, stirring occasionally, until thick (about 20 minutes).

      Makes 4 to 6 servings.
