Recipe Introduction
"So which is it? Brownies or cookies? Cade can never decide if he wants hot brownies and ice cream or crisp-on-the-edges-and-gooey-in-the-middle cookies, so we just compromise: brownie cookies! It's like a brownie - but in cookie form. Hello, deliciousness!"
List of Ingredients
° 8 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped
° 8 ounces Baker's German Chocolate, chopped
° ¼ cup (½ stick) unsalted butter, at room temperature
° 4 eggs
° 1â…“ cups granulated sugar
° 1 tsp vanilla extract
° ½ cup plus 1 Tbsp all-purpose flour
° ¼ tsp salt
° ½ tsp baking powder
° 1¼ cups milk chocolate chips
Recipe
Preheat oven to 350° F. Line two cookie sheets with parchment paper to help reduce sticking, and set aside.
Place chocolate and butter in a glass bowl and set it over a saucepan of barely simmering water, stirring occasionally, until completely melted, shiny, and smooth.
Meanwhile, stir together eggs, sugar, and vanilla in a medium bowl and set aside. In a small bowl, sift together flour, salt, and baking powder.
Add a little of the melted chocolate to the egg mixture, stirring continually to warm the mixture slightly and avoid curdling the eggs. Add the rest of the melted chocolate mixture to the egg mixture and stir to combine well. Slowly add the dry ingredients, folding them into the batter with a rubber spatula. Once all of the flour is incorporated, stir in the chocolate chips.
Scoop 1½ tablespoons of dough onto baking sheets. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until cookies are set. Do not overbake! Remove from oven and let cookies cool completely on the baking sheets.
