    List of Ingredients


    • 1-1/2 sticks unsalted butter, melted and cooled
    • 1 cup sugar, plus more for rolling
    • 1/4 cup unsulphured molasses
    • 1 egg
    • 2 cups flour
    • 1 tsp baking soda
    • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
    • 3/4 tsp ground ginger
    • 3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
    • 1/2 tsp salt


    Instructions


    1. Mix the cooled butter with the 1 cup sugar, molasses and egg. Mix well.

    2. Sift together the remaining ingredients. Stir into the sugar mixture. Cover the dough and chill several hours.

    3. Roll into 1-inch balls. Roll each ball in more granulated sugar. Bake at 375° F for 8 to 10 minutes. Remove from pans immediately and cool on wire racks.
