    Simple Chocolate Thumbprints

    Source of Recipe

    Country Home, December 2002

    List of Ingredients

    • 1/2 of an 18-oz. roll refrigerated peanut butter cookie dough
    • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate pieces
    • 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk

    Instructions

    1. Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.

    2. Bake in 375-degree oven 7 minutes. Remove from oven; gently press a shallow indentation in each cookie with the back of a round 1/2-teaspoon measuring spoon. Bake 2 minutes more or until bottoms are lightly brown. Cool on wire rack.

    3. In a small saucepan combine chocolate pieces and sweetened condensed milk. Cook and stir over medium heat until chocolate is melted. Transfer to pastry bag fitted with small star tip. Pipe about 1 teaspoon filling into the center of each cookie.

      Makes about 36 cookies.
