    White Chocolate-Macadamia Nut Cookies

    List of Ingredients


    • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
    • 1/2 cup shortening
    • 3/4 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
    • 1/2 cup sugar
    • 1 large egg
    • 1-1/2 tsp vanilla extract
    • 2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 tsp baking soda
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 1 (6-ounce) package white chocolate baking bars, cut into chunks
    • 1 (6.85-ounce) jar macadamia nuts, chopped


    Instructions


    1. Beat butter and shortening at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy; gradually add sugars, beating well. Add egg and vanilla; beat well. Combine flour, soda and salt; gradually add to butter mixture, beating well. Stir in white chocolate and nuts.

    2. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto lightly greased baking sheets.

    3. Bake at 350° F for 8 to 10 minutes, or until lightly browned. Cool slightly on baking sheets; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

      Makes 5 dozen.
