    Backyard Pulled-Pork Sliders

    Source of Recipe

From "The Southern Entertainer's Cookbook" by Courtney Whitmore

    Recipe Introduction

"You can feed a hungry crowd with these pulled-pork sliders or enjoy the pulled pork on its own, drizzled with Barbecue Sauce. While sliders are a casual food, I've been known to serve these up on a silver platter at a cocktail party because they're just that delicious!"

    List of Ingredients

    ◦ 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
    ◦ 1 (3- to 4-pound) boneless pork shoulder roast, trimmed
    ◦ 1 cup Barbecue Sauce (recipe follows)
    ◦ cup chicken broth
    ◦ cup brown sugar
    ◦ cup apple cider vinegar
    ◦ 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
    ◦ 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
    ◦ 1 tablespoon chili powder
    ◦ 2 cloves garlic, minced
    ◦ 1 small onion, diced
    ◦ 12 to 14 slider buns

    Recipe

Pour oil in the bottom of a slow cooker. Place pork shoulder in the slow cooker and top with Barbecue Sauce, broth, brown sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, chili powder, garlic, and onion. Cover and cook 8 hours on low or 4 to 5 hours on high.

Shred pork using two forks and serve with extra Barbecue Sauce and slider buns. For optional garnish, top pulled pork with coleslaw, sliced pickles, and sliced red onion.

    Makes 12 to 14 sliders
