    Caramel Apples on Sticks

    From "Fix-It-and-Forget-It Big Cookbook" by Phyllis Pellman Good

    List of Ingredients


    • Two 14-ounce bags of caramels
    • ¼ cup water
    • 8 to 10 medium apples
    • Sticks
    • Waxed Paper
    • Granulated sugar
    • .
    • -- Ideal Slow Cooker Size --
    • 2-quart


    Instructions


    1. Combine caramels and water in slow cooker. Cover. Cook on High for 1 to 1½ hours, stirring every 5 minutes.

    2. Wash and dry apples. Insert a stick into stem end of each apple. Turn cooker to Low. Dip apple into hot caramel, turning to coat entire surface. Holding apple above cooker, scrape off excess accumulation of caramel from bottom of apple.

    3. Dip bottom of caramel-coated apple in granulated sugar to keep it from sticking. Place apple on greased waxed paper to cool.

      Makes 8 to 10 servings.
