Blackberry Sorbet

List of Ingredients
- 4 to 6 cups frozen blackberries
- 6 Tbsp sugar
- 1-3/4 cups water
- 2 Tbsp blackberry brandy
- 1 Tbsp brandy
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine the berries, water and sugar. Bring to a boil, stirring to dissolve the sugar. Reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour. Remove from the heat and strain through a fine sieve or cheesecloth. Stir in the blackberry brandy and brandy.
- Pour the mixture into an 8x8-inch baking pan and freeze for 1 hour. Pour the partially frozen mixture into a food processor. Cover and pulse processor 6 to 8 times.
- Pour back into baking pan and freeze for another hour; process as before. Continue the freezing and processing until the sorbet reaches a very slushy consistency. This will require a total of 4 to 5 hours. Return it to the freezer until ready to serve.
This recipe can also be prepared in a traditional ice cream freezer according to the manufacturer's instructions.
